A Very Special MFT-easer

Today, I am so excited to share a special peek with you. The two cards on this post are created with the soon-to-be released set Cuddle Up Carter by My Favorite Things.

This set has a special place in my heart because the proceeds benefit Euro-Peds, an intensive physical therapy program for children and young adults who have neuromuscular disorders, such as Cerebral Palsy. On of my dearest buddies, Carole Burrage, has a four year old son (Carter) who has mild-moderate CP so she selected Euro-Peds to be the beneficiary for this set. So, when you purchase this adorable set--you not only get some fabulous stamps--you also help this amazing non-profit organization. A percentage of the purchase price of each set will go to Euro-Peds in honor of Carter. It will be available on Wednesday night along with the other newest releases from MFT!

The first card I created is a fun birthday card for a special "little prince":
Materials used: Stamps-Cuddle Up, Carter (My Favorite Things); Memento tuxedo black ink; Vintage Photo Distress Ink (Ranger); sponge; Copic markers; Versamark; clear embossing powder (Stampin' Up!); heat tool; Designer paper-Pen Pals: Grandma's Kitchen (We R Memory Keepers); Jumbo brads (Oriental Trading co.); ribbon (Offray); circle punch/tab punch (Stampin' Up!); Cuttlekids die cut number (Provocraft); Spellbinders circle die; Cuttlebug (Provocraft); stapler; corner rounder punch (Creative Memories).

And, I also wanted to show you this adorable train image from the set because I am lovin' it so much:
Materials used: Stamps-Cuddle Up, Carter ; Dinomite (sentiment)(My Favorite Things); Memento tuxedo black ink; Real red classic stamp pad (Stampin' Up!); Copic markers; buttons (The Paper Studio); white cardstock (Gina K Designs); notebook punch (Stampin' Up!); Designer paper-graph (The Paper Studio); Playtime stripe: Playtime (Three Bugs in a Rug); staples; corner rounder punch (Creative Memories).
Yep--I TOLD you all the new sets are awesome. I cannot stamp fast enough. Tomorrow is release day and the MFT design team blog hop!

Best Friend

Hello! Happy Saturday!
I will be running around a lot today...still trying to catch up from our vacation last week. One of the things on the agenda today is my daughter's softball game (I am one of the coaches.) Wish us luck!

I was going though a drawer of stamps and found this adorable set Framed Friends (by Asela for Gina K Designs). I knew I wanted to use the pup stamp, which I hadn't had a chance to use yet.

This is what I came up with:
I love the fun paper by 3 Bugs in a Rug--it goes well with the image, I think. I used the Martha Stewart fence punch for some added detail.

Materials used: Stamps-Framed Friends (Gina K Designs); designer paper-Playtime Striped, Playtime (3 Bugs in a Rug); Memento black ink; Copic markers; ribbon (SU!); Pures luxury white cardstock (Gina K Designs); corner rounder punch (Creative Memories); dimensionals (SU!).

Have a wonderful day!

Acetate Window Card

Hello everyone! Today I wanted to share a fun card I created last night (while watching Twilight!!!)
This card was designed around this cute Penny Black image called Cat on the Moon. I used a piece of acetate in the middle so the image looks like it is floating.
The image is stamped on Neenah cardstock and colored with Copics. I popped up the cat image so that I could dangle his tail below the main circle panel.
I colored and cut out the image, framing it with my Spellbinders die. Then I used a larger circle die to cut the opening in the front designer paper.
I used the same die to cut a circle in the card front. I assembled the card by laying a piece of acetate sandwiched between the designer paper and the card base (Island Mist by Prism). The image panel is adhered to the front of the acetate and the scalloped circle is adhered in the inside.

Very easy and a fun effect.

I used the Easy Brad Maker Kit by Chatterbox to create the center detail of the flower. I simply punched the circle with the smallest circle punch in the kit (THERE ARE THREE CIRCLES that come in this kit!!!) and used one of the clear epoxy crystal stickers over top! I added some fun Olive ric rac ribbon along the top to finish off the card.

Most of the products on this card can be found at Stamper's Dream.

Materials used: Stamp-Cat on the Moon (Penny Black); Memento black ink; Neenah cardstock; dp; Island Mist cardstock (Prism); acetate sheet; ric rac (May Arts); Easy Brad Maker Kit (Chatterbox); adhesive gemstones (dollar store); Prima flower; acetate; Spellbinders circle and scalloped circle dies; Cuttlebug (Provocraft); Copic Markers; dimensionals (SU!); corner rounder punch (Creative Memories).

A Special MFT Blog Hop

I missed last week's My Favorite Things blog hop showing off this new set called Spring Sprouts by a talented new illustrator, Sara Williams. So this is my own private blog hop. No place to hop to---so you'll just have to stay here! (Insert evil giggle!)

Here is my card:
The flowers on the ends are popped up and I added a brad to the centers. I added a button to the middle flower. All flowers are colored with Copic markers.

I love how Spring-y this set is...and the images and sentiments work perfectly for scrapbook pages as well as cards!

Materials used: Stamps-Spring Sprouts (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo black ink; Copic markers; dp-Twitterpated, Colorfall (Imaginisce) ; brads (SU!); button (The Paper studio); notebook punch (SU!); ribbon (May Arts, Pinecone Press); Spellbinders ribbon slider dies; cuttlebug; Stapler; paper piercing tool and mat pack; olive su marker; dimensionals (SU!).

Sweet friend

Hi everyone! Today, we are headed on a family trip to the Grand Canyon! I am so excited to see a part of the country that I have never seen before. I will not be around for the week to answer questions, etc. I will do my best to respond quickly when I return!

****I do have a *few* posts scheduled to run during the week. *****

I have been wanting to color this little Best Friends Forever Sarah Kay image for awhile. I finally got the chance while I was "cleaning" up my stamp room this week. I colored the image with Copic markers.

I created the brad with this amazing Easy Brad Maker kit by ChatterBox. I don't say this often but **You have to check it out. Definitely one of my favorite things from CHA! The kit includes 8 large brads, 10 medium brads, 14 small brads, 3 punch tools, 1 sheet of self-adhesive epoxy crystals, and 1 sheet of adhesive circles. Very cool indeed!
The designer paper is also by ChatterBox and the cardstock is Suede Brown (Prism) and Spring Willow (Prism)!

You can find all of the products on this card at Stamper's Dream!

Materials used: Stamp- Best Friends Forever (Sarah Kay for Stampavie); Memento black ink; Neenah cardstock; Prism cardstock (Spring Willow and Suede Brown); designer paper (Chatterbox); ricrac; Chatterbox Brad kit; Copic markers; corner rounder punch (CM); dimensionals.

Have a wonderful week!

Non-Raffle to Aid Red Cross

The February 2009 Victorian Bushfires are a series of wildfires that began burning across the Australian state of Victoria on Saturday, February 7, 2009. These devastating fires have resulted in more than 210 deaths, Australia's highest ever loss of life from a bushfire. More than 500 others have been injured. Police estimate that the number of people still missing may number over 30. The fires have destroyed at least 2,029 homes, 3,500 structures in total, and damaged thousands more. Many towns northeast of the state capital of Melbourne have been badly damaged or almost completely destroyed. The fires have left an estimated 7,500 people homeless. (Information from Splitcoaststampers.)

Splitcoaststampers is once again reaching out to help---they are having a "non-raffle" to help collect donations for the Red Cross. For every $5 USD you donate to this worthy cause from now until March 25, your name will be entered into a drawing to win one of several awesome prizes donated by our fellow stampers and favorite companies. And you can feel even better knowing that 100% of your donation goes directly to the Red Cross. Winners will be announced on March 28 on Splitcoaststampers!

You can check out the wonderful prize gallery HERE!

Gina K Preview Day 3

Hi everyone! Welcome to Day 3 of the Gina K previews. Wooohooo! By now you have seen peeks of all the new sets. Join us at the release party HERE --TONIGHT (Thursday!) from 7-10 p.m. central for full set reveals, more samples, challenges and PRIZES!

Here is a look at the new "Free with Three" set. It is called Wreath of Wishes and it comes with so many adorable sentiments that fit inside the wreath.

This card is pretty simple looking. I stamped the wreath on some Ivory Pure Luxury cs and then colored it with Prismacolor Pencils and Copics. I also stamped the wreath a second time on white cardstock. I colored the full blooms on the white, carefully cut them out and popped them up over the matching flowers on the ivory cs. Each flower has some crystal Stickles on them to make them sparkle.
I finished this card off by cutting out the center of the wreath and adding the sentiment. The mustard panel is one of the cardstock pieces that come in the Floral Frenzy kit. The ribbon is another part of the kit.

Supplies: Stamps-Wreath of Wishes (Gina K Designs); cardstock-ivory, white (Pure Luxury-Gina K Designs); mustard (Prism-from Floral Frenzy kit by Gina K Designs); Memento black ink; Copic markers, Prismacolor pencils; Stickles-crystal (Ranger); Spellbinders circle and scalloped circle Nestabilities; Wizard; dimensionals (SU!); corner punch (CM); lace decorative corner punch (Fiskars) ; ribbon (Gina K Designs).

Next, Here is a peek at Melanie's new set, A Charmed Life. This set is so much fun and is jammed packed with stamps. The main image in this set is a big wine glass. It has many many many sentiments to go with it and also little charm images to hang off the bottom of the glass.

I figured a lot of the team would show you the set for the intended purpose--so I went in another direction. This set can work with many other stamp sets you already own.
For this sample, I used You Know You're Old When (By Gina K Designs) as the main image. I used two sentiments from A Charmed Life and I also added one of the charm images (little die) to the sentiment tag.

I love how these sentiments and charms work so well with the glass---AND also with many other sets. I always have a hard time making humorous/masculine cards and it made this one a piece of cake!

Supplies: Stamps-A Charmed Life, You know you're Old When (Gina K Designs); cardstock-pure lux white base weight and layering weight; Memento black ink; Copic markers; dp-Basic grey, Cosmo Cricket; fiber (Gina K -Floral Frenzy kit); paper piercing tool; tag punch, corner rounder punch (Creative Memories); word window punch (SU!); Cropadile.

Gina K Preview Day 2

Hello! Welcome to Day 2 of the Gina K Previews. Today, the design team is showing cards created with Asela's new set called Zoo Animals.

Here is my card:

I kept this pretty simple...focusing on that cute Lion. I stamped him three times and watercolored him with SU! reinkers. I cut out the face from one and layered it over another. Then, I cut the head/mane out of that one and popped it up over the third. Very easy.

I love the cute sentiment "I'm Not Lion...You're the best!"

To embellish this card I used a cool Fiskars curved corner punch, brads and ribbon that come in the Floral Frenzy kit and some Star punches (SU!) The cool scalloped design is created using the Threading Water punch by Fiskars. I used the paper piercing guide to pierce the holes around the inside of the circle. The dp is from Memory Box (Homespun collection).

If you want to see more projects created with this set, hop on over to these wonderful blogs: Asela Donna, Erika, Jessica, Joanne, Kurtis, Melanie, Theresa , and Sharri Seffens (*In the Spotlight Designer) and, of course, Gina K!

See you tomorrow for Preview Day 3!

BTW--I did add a dialogue box on the right hand side of this blog. This is for quick questions or even requests. I have had a few people ask me questions without leaving any way to respond. Hopefully this will help!

Gina K Designs Preview Day 1

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Gina K Designs Blog Hop! Beginning today we are showing you the new sets that will be released on Thursday.

Today, we are showing you peeks of the new set by Rupa called Easter Blessings.
Here is my first card:
I also used the new digital paper designed by Emily Giovanni called Rich & Shabby. This will also be released on Thursday! I stamped the stained glass image in Versamark on the digital paper and embossed it in black. The image was also stamped on the Kraft cardstock.

I used a hobby knife to cut out the window right through the middle and also on the top and bottom (so that the window opens in the middle). I cut the digital paper image in half as well and adhered the two halves over the Kraft window. It looks like the window is opened and the dove is flying out.

I created the grid lines with my Scor-Pal.

Here is another project I created with this set. I made this tag with a few other images in the set--the cross, vines and sentiment.

See the black cardstock on the tag and card? Yep....more pure luxury. Gina is releasing Black Onyx this month! In addition, three new stamp sets and another "free with three" set will be released and some new digital paper collections you won't want to miss!

If you want to see more projects created with this set, hop on over to these wonderful blogs: Cindy, Donna, Emily, Erika, Jessica, Kurtis, Melanie, Theresa , and Sharri Seffens (*In the Spotlight Designer) and, of course, Gina K!

Don't forget--the Gina K Release party is on Thursday, March 12 from 7-10 p.m. Central time in the Forum on Splitcoaststampers! Join us for more peeks, challenges and games!

See you tomorrow for Day 2 Previews!

KNIGHT not NIGHT and a COLOR challenge

Hello everyone! It's Monday again and time for another CCEE challenge. This week is the Catchy Name Featured Stamper challenge--where we select a person who has a "catchy" sign-on name on Splitcoaststampers and make cards for him and her based on that name.

This week Frances chose Jessie Rone (Knightrone). So, we had to make a card with a "KNIGHT" not a "Night" (as I was told many many times)! Giggle. No problem!

Here is my card:

Double points---because I have lots of "knight"s on my card and it is at night! (Just covering all the bases here!) Nanner, nanner, nanner girls---they were all waiting for me to mess this one up!

I used Kim Hughes' adorable Twinks the Owl for the main image and set him on a die cut flourish with the moon behind him. I typed out the bottom of the card on my computer interchanging "Night" and "Knight". I used the fabulous Harmony Rectangular Stamper Set from JustRite and the Brayton Font for the sentiment. I love how I can customize any card with this thing. Cannot wait to get my hands on the new vertical stamper so I can make sentiments along the side! You can find lots of JustRite products at Stamper's Dream (and at great prices too!)

You can see all the other fabulous KNIGHT cards on the CCEE BLOG!
Materials used: Stamps-Twinks the Owl (Kim Hughes); Brayton Font and Harmony Rectangular Stamper (JustRite); cardstock-black, white (Gina K Pure Luxury); Designer paper-Homespun (Memory Box); Cuttlebug and dots embossing folder (Provocraft); ribbon (Gina K Designs); Circle die (Spellbinders); computer; Copic markers; star punch (SU!); small star punch; QuicKutz flourish die; dimensionals (SU!).

Transported

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday!

Here is a cute "Thinking of You" card I created with the adorable Penny Black Transported bear . In the original stamp, the bear is holding onto a group of balloons. I thought it would be cute to make the sentiment the balloon so I changed it up a bit and added a sentiment from Expressions Clear stamp set by Inkadinkado.
Materials used: Stamps-Transported (Penny Black), Expressions Clear Sentiment set (Inkadinkado); Memento black ink; Pure Luxury white (Gina K Designs); designer paper-Homespun Collection (Memory Box); Copic markers; adhesive pearls (Kaiser Craft); paper piercing tool and mat pack (SU!), scalloped circle punch (SU!); oval/ scalloped oval dies (Spellbinders); Cuttlebug (Provocraft); dimensionals (SU!); hemp (SU!).

This is one way you can get a lot more mileage from your stamps. Stamp just part of the image for a whole different look! I colored the bear with Copic markers.

I pierced the edges of the blue designer paper and added some Kaiser Craft pearls at the corners. The ribbon is May Arts.

You can find all the stamps and embellishments on this card at Stamper's Dream. Check it out! Michelle is now carrying stamps from Flourishes, JustRite, Our Craft Lounge as well as fun embellishments from May Arts, Kaiser Crafts, Pebbles, and Chatterbox, to name a few!

Don't forget to enter to win the SU Blog Candy on the post below!

Have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Hooga Booga

Hello everyone! Between my dd's softball (I am one of the coaches) AND various service men stopping by---It has been a crazy house.

We just had direct TV installed yesterday. Yeah! My husband is happy BUT the downside is that the installer fell through my daughter's bedroom (from the attic) so now there is a hole in her room that has to be fixed. Thankfully, he was not hurt. And, to tell you the truth....since the mess is in my 12 y/0's room (aka "The dark hole")---the gaping hole and chunks of insulation just blend right in (AKKKK!!)

Here is a look at the new Hooga Booga set that is NOW available at My Favorite Things!

Materials used: Stamps-Hooga Booga (My Favorite Things); ink-Memento, blue, pink (Chatter box); flower punch (SU!); hemp (SU!); paper piercing tool and mat pack (SU!); Choc chip marker (SU!); designer paper (SEI); white cardstock (Gina K Pure Luxury); Threading water punch (Fiskars!); dimensionals (SU!)

The little hooga booga, sentiment, clouds and tiny hearts (along bottom) are all images in this set! C*U*T*E
I paper pieced the hugga bugga and then added the sentiment and draped it through his hands.

This Month's Special Deals:

MFT Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to the My Favorite Things blog hop! If you didn't start at the beginning and want to see all the awesome new MFTeasers, head over to Kim's blog!

For my MFTeaser, I created a little journal with the Nite Nite Ellie set. I love this set, not only because of the adorable images, but also because $2 from every set sold for the first six months will be donated to St. Jude's Hospital for Children! Too cool!

I used my Bind-it-All to create this chipboard book. I cut inside pages the same size as the covers and added some dividers created with the label punch.

I paper pieced the little girl's pajamas and colored the rest of her with Copic markers. The felt pieces are by Martha Stewart and I had some pink star ribbon that I just cut apart to layer on top of some of the felt stars.

As a final touch, I added some white Flower Soft to the bunny slippers and the collar of her pajamas to make them fuzzy!

Materials used: Nite Nite Ellie (My Favorite Things); Memento black ink; Copic markers; Flower Soft (white); adhesive pearls (K & Company); designer paper-Cosmo Cricket and Stampin' Up! ; cardstock-white (Gina K Pure Luxury); Bind-It-All and black binding wire (Zutter); chipboard (Zutter); label punch (SU!); Martha Stewart felt shapes; star ribbon; ribbons (SU! and MFT); slit punch (SU!); paper piecing tool and mat pack (SU!); dimensionals (SU!).

******Now head on over to Susie's fantabulous blog to continue the journey....

HOPPY Spring

I had to get in at least one MFTeaser before the big MFT blog hop Wednesday! So, here is a card that uses the newest Flopsey set called Tea with Flopsey. This guy is actually sitting under a tree with a tea cup in his hands in the actual set. But, because of his shape, I thought he would be perfect holding an Easter egg (the egg being the "o"!). I used Bling 'Bet for the sentiment and the Easter egg and "Easter" are from an older set called Hoppy Easter.

I love the happy colors!

Materials used: Stamps: Tea with Flopsey, Bling 'Bet, Hoppy Easter (My Favorite Things); Memento black ink; Copic markers; designer paper-Homespun collection (Memory Box); cardstock-white (Gina K Pure Luxury), pink (SU!); oval punches (SU!); sheer ribbon (Offray); Threading water punch (Fiskars); dimensionals (SU!).

My Favorite Things is having a New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday, March 4th from 9-10 PM EASTERN. CCEE Challenge and Thanks Papertrey

Hello and Happy Monday! This is a busy week. Today, I wanted to start off by thanking another fabulous company that helped with the Heart to Heart Card fundraiser for Caregivers of Alzheimer's disease. *Yep! Still thanking all the fabulous companies who generously donated to the cause.

Today---I want to say thank you to Papertrey Ink.

I recently picked up Damask Designs which was designed by the awesome Dawn McVey for Papertrey, so I decided to use it for my Monday CCEE challenge. This week we had to use adhesive address labels on our cards. Easy enough! I stamped the damask pattern on each label and then peeled them and stuck them to the black matted cardstock. I stamped another damask design and then used the small circle punch (SU!) to punch the design and add it onto a brad:
I love how dramatic the black and white looks. Check out all the other label-ed creations on the CCEE blog! Hope you will play along.

And here is another card I created with the Damask Designs. When I first saw this large image, I immediately thought of a chandelier. So.....I created a simple one layer card with that large image as the main focus. After stamping the design, I added some darker parts with a black marker (kind of representing shadows that all chandeliers give off). Then I used some Mark Richards tiny black crystal stickers to add the chain and some interest to the chandelier itself.
I used a larger black crystal sticker in the center. Finally, I stamped the sentiment, added some more crystal stickers around it and then tied the ribbon (Berry Sorbet) to the top.
Think it looks like a chandelier?
THANK YOU so much Nichole and Papertrey Ink for generously donating to a very worthy cause. I will never forget your willingness to help. I am so grateful.
