Colorful U

Hello again! Still enjoying our time in Pennsylvania. It is funny....when I come here I love visiting everyone but I also LOVE eating all the foods we cannot get in Texas (favorites like-Philly pretzels, good northeast pizza, Tastycakes, etc.) So basically...I go back home 10 lbs heavier!!! (But it is worth it!)

Here is a page I made with a picture of my littlest. I loved this photo and the colorful American Crafts dp was perfect to create this layout....cause that girl is sooo colorful!
I fussy cut some of the flowers from the designer paper and added buttons and adhesive pearls to some of them. I trickled the flowers from the top left corner down to the right corner.....and used a black and white copy of the photo first.

Here is a look at some of the dimension the page has:
Materials used:
American Crafts- Ribbon-Spring Hor Stripes/Everyday hearts; Designer paper-Everyday: Good Morning, Everyday: Salut, Amplified: Bandstand; Thickers-Sprinklers
Other: Buttons-Gina K, PTI; adhesive pearls-Recollections (Michael's); slit punch (SU!); stapler

Follow Your Dreams

This is the card I made for my daughter when she graduated 8th grade this year. She is NOT fond of flowers (gasp!) so I had to go a different route...She loved it.

I used JustRite Stampers All Occasion Nested Centers & Verse set AGAIN! (...can you tell I LOVE it!?) I inked the sentiment using two markers and then cut a cloud shape around the stamped image so I would be sure to get it all in.
You can find a huge selection of JustRite stamps at Stamper's Dream. Be sure to check out the Christmas release---coming soon!!!

Materials used: Stamps- All Occasion Nested Centers & Verse (JustRite Stampers); markers-red, black (SU!); designer paper- Fly a Kite 8 by 8 pad (October Afternoon); Cloud die trio (My Favorite Things); ribbon (Gina K Designs); Cardstock-white, sweet corn (Gina K Designs); sewing machine; red metal stickers (Mark Richards); rub on-Fly a Kite (October Afternoon).

What a treat!

Well...the kids and I are in PA and getting ready to head to the NJ BEACH for some r & r! I will be taking this week off from blogging to just spend with the kids. I plan to do a lot of reading and sitting on the beach for HOURS........ After we get back to my parents house...I have a few posts set up to post so my blog won't be completely empty :)

I will leave you with a cute altered project....

I LOVE creating little containers for candy/gift cards. For this project, I used a wood container, painted it and added some fabric paper scallops to dress it up. I covered a chipboard flower with designer paper, sanded the edges and then added a section of ribbon (Lovely, American Crafts) in the center to bring the flower to life. The colors match perfectly and so the dimension looks pretty neat.

I wrapped some designer paper around the painted handle (like a stem) and then created the little matching tag. This is perfect to present a little gift of jewelry, candy or a gift card (or all three!)
Materials used:
Designer paper-Everyday: How's It Going?, Everyday: Long Time no See (American Crafts); ribbon-Lovely (Dear Lizzy/American Crafts); Thickers-patterned chipboard shape stickers (Dear Lizzy/American Crafts); rub-on- Mini Marks-Pounce Phrases (Dear Lizzy/American Crafts); Chipboard flower-(SU!); wood container (Hobby Lobby); Acrylic paint, white; Fabric paper-Sycamore Swing (Dear Lizzy/American Crafts); die- scalloped scallop die (My Favorite Things); twine.

Enjoy your week!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Got Crabs?

Hello! Hope your week was wonderful! It has been hot, muggy and rainy here lately....oh well! We are still managing to have fun.

I am "supposed" to be packing for our trip but....I took a few moments to scrap a picture I took of the two little ones at Ft. Walton beach. We stopped there on the way back from Disney a month ago....now this beach has oil on it. Very sad....

I created this quick layout for the American Crafts challenge this week. The challenge is to create a layout sharing what you are doing on your summer vacation that uses two or more AC products.

One of my kids favorite things to do on the beach is dig for sand crabs. They will dig for hours filling a bucket just to let them all go. But....they do this without fighting, which makes it one of my favorite summer moments too!

Here is the page.
For the title, I used some Mini Market Ledger stickers (October Afternoon) and then I cut the number 4 from Everyday:Long Time No See designer paper (American Crafts). I used my favorite letter stickers from American Crafts to spell out CRABS (Sarah Script). Here is a close-up shot of the sun---I used an Amercian crafts rub on (Mini Marks-Pounce Phrases) on top of a Jillibean Soup sprout to create the sun. I cut some American Crafts fabric paper (Garden Gala) to create the rays for the sun. Finally, I added some gemstones around the edge:
Here is a detail shot of the bottom corner. I used another rub on (Pounce Phrases) on top of a smaller picture of the two kids. I added stickers for the date. I cut the birdhouse from fabric paper (Garden Gala: Dear Lizzy/American Crafts) and added a patterned chipboard shape heart sticker (Thickers-Dear Lizzy/AC) on it. The flower is from Details Adhesive Layered Embellishemnts-Chatter- Dear Lizzy /AC)....I removed the flower layer from the background felt to use with another chipboard shape on top of a punched circle. I layered this on top of some Everyday ribbon (American Crafts):
That is it! Back to packing :)
Materials used:
American Crafts-Designer paper- Celebration: Pinata, Spring: Sunny Spot (Dear Lizzy/AC), Everyday: Long Time No See; Thickers- patterned chipboard shapes (Dear Lizzy/AC), I do: Orchid; Letter stickers- Sarah Script; Adhesive layered embellishments-Chatter (Dear Lizzy/ AC); Ribbon- Everyday; Adhesive fabric paper- Spring: Firefly Festival, Garden Gala (Dear Lizzy/AC); rub-ons- Mini Marks Pounce Phrases (Dear Lizzy/AC).
Other: Mini market stickers, Ledger (October Afternoon); yellow journaling sprout (Jillibean Soup); adhesive rhinestones (Hero Arts); blue ink (SU!); sponge.

Hi for a friend

Hello! Hope you are having a great week. Just wanted to share a quick card today....

I originally created this card for a magazine call. A friend admired it and so I sent it her way... I used Studio Calico: Anthology collection papers on this and used my Jumbo scallop die (My Favorite Things) again!

Easy peasy---lovin' this color /pattern combination so you may see it again!!

Blogger Issues

I have been made aware of a few issues----some comments are not being shown on my blog, Some are not able to post comments, and some are but then they aren't being shown on the comment count....

It seems that this is a pretty widespread problem at this time. Just know that if you click on the comments section under the post (even when it says 0 comments) and your comment is there, I have received it. Thank you!

And thanks to the ladies who have not been able to post and who have emailed me with comments. (Too sweet!) I so appreciate you taking the time to let me know.

I am not sure what the problem is at this time but I am sure it will get resolved soon.

Beach Bound!

It has been a GREAT summer already! We have had so much fun. In a few days, the kids and I are heading to PA to visit my family for a few weeks. Sadly, dh will be left behind to work :( (But....I think he might manage to squeeze in a little fun time here and there.)
Our first stop will be to the NJ beach---woohooo!!!

So, I jumped on the American Crafts challenge (to create a card or layout featuring at least two American Crafts products AND stamping).....and created a BEACH card:

I paired the My Favorite Things Pure Innocent stamp set-Beach Bum with lots of American Crafts goodness to create this scene.

I used some American Crafts adhesive fabric paper for the banner (Garden Gala), clouds (Fanciful Flutter) and strip along the side. (I used the MFT Cloud trio die to cut the clouds.) The fabric paper adds so much texture to cards/layouts...I love the look.

The image was colored with Copic markers and I paper pieced her swimsuit. The sandcastle and bucket were also paper pieced. I added a rub on for the sentiment (Pounce Phrases-American Crafts). I added a touch of American Crafts everyday ribbon to the side of the card to finish it off.

Materials list:
American Crafts- Mini marks rub ons-Pounce Phrases; Adhesive backed fabric paper- Fanciful Flutter, Garden Gala; Ribbon-Everyday; Designer paper- I Do: Freesia, Spring: Sunny Spot, Everyday: Aloha, Botanique: Vivian.
Other-Cardstock-white (Gina K Designs); Memento tuxedo black ink; Stamps-Beach Bum (My Favorite Things); Dies-Jumbo Scallop, Cloud Trio (My Favorite Things); Copic markers.

Back to laundry!!!!!!!!

Joy Ride!

My son just learned how to ride his bike. It is just something that we didn't even think of trying before now....because he has been busy with sports and his scooter. So...it was sort of an afterthought. But..at age 7...we thought we would give it a try. After all, we could easily put the training wheels right back on: "As soon as we took the training wheels off the bike,
Ben took off down the street.
Maybe we should have tried this sooner."

Definitely a memory worth scrapping!

Materials used:
American Crafts-Designer paper: Celebration:Pinata; Everyday: Howdy; Amplified: The Mashed Potato; Ribbon-AC Michael's All Occasion; Letters-Sarah Script Remarks stickers, Thickers-Rainboots black puffy stickers, Trademarks rub on transfers
Other-White cs (SU!), smoky slate cs (Gina K Designs); pearl accents (Recollections, Micheal's); sewing machine; dies-arrow (Provocraft), sun (My Favorite Things); stapler; black sharpie paint pen.

Happy (almost!) Birthday, Kim

In honor of the MFT lady's birthday (on July 5th) a few friends are celebrating with a special card hop to honor thy fair maiden.

Here is my card for Kim:
I used the adorable Make Mine a Double Pure Innocent stamp to create this card. I used the fresh cut grass and cloud trio dies (which I love almost as much as Kim!) on this as well. The papers I used on this are by October Afternoon- Fly a Kite.

"To my favorite Craphead---I Love you lots!!! xoxo Camster"
